[Speaker 1:] Coventry Savings Exhibition, February 1938. It is suggested that a new form of advertising be used at the Coventry Exhibition. Instead of spending 30 pounds on a joint leaflet, we could have a voice recording machine similar to the one I am now using. Some 10 to 20 people could be spotted at every performance in the cinema and those people would be invited to record their voices and then be given the result as a souvenir of their visit to the exhibition. As far as I am aware a machine of this type has not been used in Coventry during recent months and therefore should prove particularly attractive.

[Speaker 2:] Hopefully you made a message on the other side of this record and know now how it sounds. On the other hand, you may have received it through a friend or relative. Why not make a record yourself on the voice recording machine? They are installed in many parts of the country and, if you have any difficulty in locating machines, write to us and we will tell you where there is one near at hand. In these days with the spoken word being so much in evidence by the way of telephone, radio, cinema, and theatre, people are extremely voice-conscious, and one's character and personality are judged by the voice. Does your voice create a good impression? Hear your voice and judge for yourself. If you are one of these people who hate writing letters, then record instead. It only costs six pence.
