This collection comprises audio recordings made between 1888 and 1979 specifically for the purpose of postal communication. Predominantly made up of unique rotating disks originally employing a range of materials and recording equipment, many of which can be listened to here after digital preservation, the corpus draws upon resources of multiple collectors as well as the principal investigator, Professor Thomas Levin. Significant investment in transcription of the speakers and research in to distribution of phono-post products makes this a unique resource for media archaeology.
